Multi-day Journeys

Fully arranged longer journeys, tailored to your wishes, with time for in-depth experiences.

_______

Rome wasn't built in a day. Some journeys take a little longer. I travel all over Europe with my guests on WWII journeys and private holidays.

We visit the places of interest with plenty of time to share the stories, while keeping the flexibility to change the plan when needed.

A PRIVATE JOURNEY THROUGH EUROPE

How does it work?

When you book a longer journey with me, we effectively go on holiday together. Therefore it is essential we meet up online ahead of the journey and get to know each other. Together we will work on an itinerary, either based on one of the three journeys below or made up from scratch. Once we agree on the overall plan I will start making arrangements, booking hotels, transport and tickets.

I will try to leave the planning as flexible as possible so we can make decisions and change things on the day as well. In the end it is your journey, for which I am always grateful. I feel privileged to do these often emotional journeys with people. In my experience we will have a lot of fun together as well.

This journey is often intense and emotional, and in my experience very rewarding.

CREATE YOUR OWN TRIP

Private, flexible and comfortable

It's easy to travel through Europe, and there is so much to see and do. There are countless tour operators where you can book your holiday, but when you get in touch with me we will plan everything together. You let me know what you are looking for, I will make my suggestions and in a few meetings we come up with a plan. I will organize everything from then on.

I like to have a good idea of what we will do, and stay flexible to make changes at the same time. We can visit WWI and WWII sites throughout Europe, or have a more general holiday with a combination of history, culture, nature and local specialities. Stories are everywhere and we will have a lot of fun finding them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions my guests ask me before or during our time together.

  • What is included in a multi-day journey?

Every journey is different. Depending on your wishes, a multi-day journey can include accommodation, transportation, historical sites, museums, research, walking tours and personal guidance throughout the trip. Together we create an itinerary that fits your interests, pace and budget.

  • How many days should I plan for?

That depends entirely on what you would like to see. Some guests choose a two or three-day journey focused on a specific topic such as Operation Market Garden or family history. Others spend a week or more exploring different regions, historical sites and stories throughout the Netherlands and neighbouring countries.

  • Can we combine different interests in one journey?

Absolutely. Many guests combine World War II history, family history research and Dutch heritage in a single itinerary. Because these journeys are private and fully customised, we can create a unique experience that reflects your interests rather than following a fixed schedule.

  • Will you accompany us throughout the entire journey?

Yes. Unlike many tour operators, I personally guide the journey from start to finish. This allows us to remain flexible, adapt plans when needed and take advantage of unexpected opportunities along the way.

  • Can you create a completely bespoke itinerary?

Yes. In fact, that is how most multi-day journeys begin. Some guests arrive with a detailed wish list, while others simply tell me what interests them. Together we build a personalised itinerary that can include historical sites, family connections, hidden gems, museums, landscapes and experiences that are difficult to find on your own.
